Just taking another opportunity to publicize Openstreetmap (http://www.openstreetmap.org), the "Free" as in beer and source map of the world. Many bicycle and hiking trails in the Triangle have already been mapped, but more effort is needed.

Cloudmade (http://maps.cloudmade.com) now has a Beta service that does ok routing, also.
