los padres on bikes

I got a call last week from my mom who wanted advice about bikes. Be still my beating heart! My folks, riding bikes!

Over the weekend, I received this cell phone pic… a new Trek Pure (lime green) for my mom and Trek Navigator for my dad. They’ve already ridden around the neighborhood several times and to a café for breakfast over the weekend.

    Hey, not only did we ride to a coffee shop, we got caught in a rain shower while out on the bikes! Does that make us authentic enough?

    Wow, your mom’s Trek is almost identical to mine (only mine is purple). I love it! I bought mine for beach riding on Hilton Head Island, but since it’s only one-gear, it’s hard to pedal in the hilly Triangle. I want to sell it on craigslist and get a new one!

    Well, Ginny, I have 21 gears, and I don’t know what to do with most of them. I’ve found three or four that are the most comfortable for the kind of terrain I encounter. The other 17 or so can wait :)
